PUMPED.

I am very happy to finally be able to post about a project that I’ve been working on since mid 2011. I was asked by Andrew Cook of The Receiving End Of Sirens if I would be interested in doing some album art for a “new release” TBA. I obviously jumped at the opportunity, having been a TREOS fan for quite some time…since about 2003 when my classmate Ben Potrykus was their singer and handing out demos during chorus class. I was very surprised and excited to discover that this “new release” was actually a remastering of these earliest of TREOS demos.

I set to work thinking of a concept, and as luck would have it, I had some pretty neat source material to use. My dad’s family has a summer house in Scituate, and on our front porch is fixed an old military tank telescope. On the 4th of July weekend, I had decided to take a few photos through this telescope, and the results were pretty neat. From a couple of these images, I was able to build this design up. The view from that porch is a favorite for my family and holds memories of endless summer days and nights.

Andrew contacted me earlier this year with release details, and I made a few changes and designed the album labels. I cannot wait for this vinyl to get to my door. Strangely enough, it was this assignment that got me to buy a turntable and start collecting records. Couldn’t be happier about it.

I hope people dig this and pick up the record! I’ll post some photos when it arrives.
